If you like crunchy snacks but don't want a long ingredient list, these cottage cheese chips are about as easy as it gets.

They're crispy around the edges, cheesy, naturally high in protein, and you can switch up the seasoning depending on what you're in the mood for. For this version, we're keeping things simple with two options: paprika and oregano, or sesame.

Why we love them

These chips are:

How to make cottage cheese chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, then spoon small portions of cottage cheese onto the tray. Leave some space between each one, as they'll spread slightly while baking.
  3. For the paprika and oregano version, season the cottage cheese directly on the tray. For the sesame version, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.
  4. Bake until the edges are golden and the chips are firm enough to flip.
  5. Carefully turn them over, then return them to the oven for a few more minutes until crisp.
  6. Let them cool before eating. They'll firm up even more as they cool.

Is cottage cheese low FODMAP?

It can be.

Cottage cheese contains lactose, but that doesn't automatically make it off limits on a low FODMAP diet. FODMAP content depends on both the product and the portion size, so some regular cottage cheeses may still work in smaller servings.
